369 Global

Letters from the Co-founders

As third-culture entrepreneurs, 369 Global has always been more than just a business to us — we have a deep belief in leading with our values. With roots in Canada and abroad, we see it as our calling to bring the world to Canada and Canada to the world.

This mission is more urgent than ever. Amid global instability, Canada faces labour force challenges that threaten our prosperity and quality of life — challenges that can be met by reinforcing and capitalizing on Canada’s international reputation and relationships.

This report outlines a bold plan to help overcome our labour force challenges: Global Skilling Centres, an innovative new model to revolutionize skills development by bringing Canadian training to key locations abroad. These centres would be built in key locations abroad, providing Canadian training targeted to Canadian labour market needs, and setting up a portion of graduates to easily immigrate to Canada. We are confident that Global Skilling Centres can attract top global talent to Canada, address critical skills gaps, and ensure Canada can grow sustainably alongside the newcomers it welcomes.

Having ourselves immigrated to Canada, we pay special attention to what it means to be Canadian. A quintessential Canadian value is trust in the skills and commitment of newcomers to continue building a better Canada. Nowhere is this clearer than the thousands of newcomers doing the demanding, often overlooked work of supporting people at the beginning and end of life: those working as early childhood educator assistants and personal support workers.

Through this work, they support older generations who helped build this country, and the children who will shape its future. Given the value of their work, these newcomers should be set up for success: provided with quality education while freed from the burden of high costs and uncertainty that too often come with immigration to Canada.

At 369 Global, we are committed to addressing Canada’s skills gaps in innovative, ambitious, and sustainable ways. That’s why, through our work with our skills training subsidiary Computek College, we are exploring opportunities to open the first Global Skilling Centres in Kenya, Malaysia, and India. Our first Global Skilling Centres would train personal support workers, early childhood educator assistants, and cybersecurity analysts, enabling them to earn Canadian training abroad, and setting them up to immigrate to and succeed in Canada.

At 369 Global, we look to the world to build a strong Canada. For Global Skilling Centres to reach their full potential we cannot go alone: we need buy-in and support from Canadian governments and ecosystem partners so that Global Skilling Centre graduates will be able to immigrate to Canada and contribute from day one.
